25 Oct. '11 With our Walk on the Wild Side release, Fruugo is now available to shoppers outside of Europe! Canada and South Africa have joined - along with Poland, Portugal, Switzerland and Russia - bringing our total number of Fruugo countries to 18.

What's new in this release:
We're also working on a new section devoted entirely to Christmas shopping. So make sure to stay tuned for a super simple way to find the right gift for everyone this year.

8 Jun. '11 With our Oh La La! release, Fruugo is now available in Belgium, France, Italy and Spain. We also launched in Ireland in February, meaning over 365 million shoppers now have access to Fruugo!

15 Feb. '11 Fruugo's first major release in 2011 not only introduces plenty of webshop improvements, we are also open for business in Germany, Austria and Luxembourg! We want to wish a warm welcome to our new shoppers.

27 Sept. '10 Fruugo goes UK!

Bright and early on Monday morning, the 27th of September, Fruugo launched the service in the United Kingdom. We want to take this opportunity to welcome British shoppers to Fruugo! Our latest God Save the Queen release marks the occasion.

In addition to launching Fruugo in the UK, God Save the Queen introduces a bunch of service improvements and new features.
  • Renewed and enhanced profile pages for our Fruugonians! You can now share your profile with friends, show off the products you like, don't like and own. You can also share your random thoughts (about pretty much anything!) by posting them to your profile, or your friends' profiles (just play nice, ok?).

  • My profile fully replaces My account - your account details, order history and password management are now available under Privacy & settings in your profile.

  • Please note: managing delivery addresses in your Fruugo profile will be unavailable for a while, but we have your addresses safely stored so you can still access your saved addresses at checkout.

  • When browsing search results you can easily filter products to see only those that have discounted prices.

  • We've been busy adding new products and retailers to the shop, some of our latest newcomers are:

  • Our customer care opening hours have changed - we will be answering your calls from 9 to 14.00 (UTC+2) on weekdays.

7 May '10 Fruugo is turning 1 on May 7th!

Since the launch of the public Fruugo webshop one year ago, our mission has been to bring all sorts of products sold by Europe’s best online shops for you to discover and buy – all in one secure and fun shop.

We’re happy to say that we now have over 100 trusted retailers from Finland, the UK, the Netherlands, and Sweden at Fruugo, offering over 100,000 products from brands like Nike, Puma, Haglöfs, Suunto, TIGI, Redken, Paul Mitchell, L'Oréal, Alessi, Kartell, Sony, Canon, LEGO, BRIO, and PlanToys. We’re also proud to have smaller retailers selling stuff you probably won’t find anywhere else.

5 Feb. '10 The "beta" label is off!

We've been working for over a year with the beta release of Fruugo to improve stability, incorporate feedback from Fruugonians, and add new features to make shopping easier and more fun. During this time, we’ve also seen transactions with all possible country combinations – shoppers in the Netherlands successfully buying products from UK retailers, Swedish shoppers ordering things from the Netherlands, and so on.

Removing the beta label is a reflection of the maturity of the Fruugo service. Of course, this doesn't mean we stop here – we will continue adding new features and streamlining the shopping experience, as well as adding more products to the shop and opening Fruugo for shoppers in other countries across Europe.

Thank you all for the feedback you've provided during the beta stage and for taking this journey with us!

20 Jan. '10 The Everyday is like Sunday release brings:
  • Updated checkout pages with a new, easier-to-use layout; plus you can now shop at Fruugo without registering.

  • A small update to make buying directly from the product pages more convenient. You can now go to checkout right after adding a product to the shopping cart directly from the product page.

  • A few major improvements to the ordering process. Because the new version saves order information in a different way, your previous orders will no longer show under My account → My orders. But don't worry! Your entire order history is safe and sound in our order processing system. You can ask our customer care team for information related to these orders at any time by sending an e-mail to customercare@fruugo.com.

06 Nov. '09 The Purple Rain release introduces:
  • Brand new product page layout: we've improved the selection of product variants for products where multiple alternatives exist (colour combinations, multiple retailers selling a product and so on).

  • Fruugo departments: we've reshuffled the store departments by combining the former Baby and Toys & games departments into Kids & babies; and merging Media & entertainment with the Electronics department. Less departments make it easier to navigate and find exactly the products you're looking for, or discover great stuff you had no idea you needed.

  • Latest additions to the shop: we've added lots of products from brands like:

28 Sept. '09 This release brings in a variety of fixes, user interface tweaks, and a few features. So, what's new?
  • Country and language selection: it is now simpler and more intuitive to set your language and country at Fruugo. Check it out by clicking the flag icon in the top right corner of the page.
  • Product descriptions: we're constantly working on improving the product descriptions quality, but it's not an easy thing to do with products coming from so many retailers in different countries. This time we made several subtle yet important improvements. More to come shortly!
  • Product recommendations: product pages now feature a list of similar products. You can browse through those products directly from the product page. Clicking the one you like will take you to its page.
  • New products: we worked hard to get even more excellent products and good deals into Fruugo. Our endeavour resulted in an overwhelming amount of new products and brands being added mainly to our Health & beauty department. To give you a rough idea, here are several latest brands: Paul Mitchell, TIGI, NUXE & American Crew.
We though it's about time to share some Fruugo stats with the world. How big is Fruugo?
  • A total of 77,000 products in the shop.
  • 75 Fruugo retailers from Finland, Sweden, United Kingdom, and the Netherlands.

17 Aug. '09 Yay, we’re back from the summer holiday! During that time the Fruugo crew not only managed to get a bit of a tan, we also made a bunch of improvements to make shopping at Fruugo more pleasant. In case you’re thinking that we worked like crazy all through vacation (picture an ice-cold Mojito in one hand and a laptop in the other), the answer is no. We were simply super-productive on our return.

Look around and you may notice:
  • An easier-to-use main page, where just one click takes you to the right department.
  • Individual pages for each department with improved browsing and easier product discovery.
  • New retailers with great products, including Watch on Watch from Sweden, Puoti from Finland, Althleticshop, Sneakertom, and LupuX from the Netherlands.
8 June '09 We had a bit of a rocky start with our Beta opening. Although it pained us to do it, we had to close the shop after the first day and fix the problems that came up. And yes, it took us a week to do it. But we are happy now that the shop is open again - and most importantly - seems to have no major problems. Fingers crossed!

We've been busy adding new great products, from design items to tableware to stationery. If you're interested, take a look at Piriste, Aarikka, Finlayson, Globe hope or Kermansavi.

7 May '09 The baby panda is starting to walk! Fruugo is now open to everybody in Finland, Sweden, and the Netherlands. A warm welcome to all of our new shoppers, and big thanks to our test users from the closed beta! Many of you gave interesting and incisive input and it's been a really nice dialogue with you.

For those of you who keep track of such things, some new features have popped up: comments you've made now appear on your profile page, and you have the ability to "follow" other shoppers - for now this might help you discover neat stuff that others have found, and later on - well, your social media-conditioned brain can see where it's going, right? On top of that, the requisite stability improvements, bug fixes, and there's a ton of new products!

Things will happen fast during the spring and summer and we're looking forward to making Fruugo a bigger and better webshop!
8 Apr. '09 This release brings in an updated product details page - there's a new layout and now you can see who owns, likes, and dislikes a product.
11 Mar. '09 This release introduced a few new features, usability improvements and lots of new retailers and products.
  • Return announcement: you can now let us know about your wish to return products directly through the Orders page under My account.
  • Search results: the search results page has been improved, plus you can now choose to have all the search results listed on one page.
29 Jan. '09 This release focused on fixes and stability improvements, and introduced many new retailers and products. Plus, some new features were added, including:
  • Products browsing: you can now browse previous and next products on the product details page.
  • Privacy options: you can now select to not have your searches and product views shown on Le Pulse.
  • Reporting: enabled reporting of inappropriate comments.
8 Jan. '09 Liftoff! Fruugo was launched in invitation-only mode, with a small number of retailers and products on board.
