12.7mm SATA Optical Bay Caddy

A compact, lightweight (100g) aluminium caddy engineered to convert your laptop’s 12.7mm optical drive bay into a functional second SATA storage slot. Built to exact OEM tolerances, it fits securely into compatible laptops without modification. The interior includes a dedicated plastic mounting frame that isolates vibrations and suppresses operational noise — particularly beneficial when installing spinning HDDs. Fully compliant with 2.5-inch SATA form factor drives, including both traditional HDDs and modern SSDs, it connects via the native 13-pin SATA interface (6+7 pin) found in most 12.7mm optical bays. This allows full bandwidth utilisation and native BIOS-level support — enabling seamless dual-boot capability where the secondary drive appears as a bootable option during startup.
