16cm Outdoor String-Launch Helicopter

Designed specifically for outdoor use, this 16cm-high plastic helicopter has a 14cm rotor diameter and a low centre of gravity for stable flight initiation. Its material composition balances rigidity and slight flex to absorb landing impact without cracking. Flight distances of 3–8 meters are achievable across varied ground surfaces, supporting both solo experimentation and social competition. Assembly consists of three pre-fitted parts that click securely — no adhesives or tools required. The launch mechanism relies solely on manual string pull, demanding controlled acceleration and release timing — a physical skill that matures with practice. Observation of flight arc, spin rate and descent pattern supports emergent scientific thinking. Units ship in assorted colours; contents include one complete helicopter only.
