18g 58mm Variable Diameter Filter Basket

A precision-engineered 58mm filter basket with variable diameter adjustment, designed to improve fit, flow, and extraction repeatability. Holds 18g of coffee and measures 33mm in depth. Made from durable metal, it integrates smoothly with bottomless portafilter handles found on many UK-market home and prosumer espresso machines. The base features tightly controlled, evenly spaced holes to support uniform water movement through the coffee bed. This design enhances extraction consistency by mitigating common issues like channeling and uneven tamping response. It enables more accurate dose and grind tuning — helping users achieve balanced sweetness, clarity, and body across diverse bean origins and roast levels. Its compatibility with bottomless portafilters makes it especially useful for those focused on mastering fundamentals through visual feedback. Whether upgrading from stock baskets or seeking greater control over extraction variables, this filter basket offers tangible improvements in shot stability, flavour definition, and long-term technique development — all grounded in measurable physical design choices.
