30cm Router Power Cycle Timer

A purpose-built 30 cm inline timer module weighing 30 g, engineered to deliver scheduled, full-power-cycle restarts to home broadband routers. The device uses a sealed timing mechanism activated at first power-on, offering user-selectable 12-hour or 24-hour intervals. After each timeout, it breaks the live supply for precisely 5 seconds — exceeding the minimum 2–3 second discharge window recommended by major router manufacturers for stable cold boot behaviour. Its PVC-jacketed cable meets UK RoHS-compliant material standards and terminates in standard IEC C7 (figure-8) connectors compatible with most UK router power bricks. Developed in response to widespread reports of degraded throughput after 3–5 days of continuous operation — especially noticeable during HD video conferencing or large file downloads on Fibre-to-the-Cabinet (FTTC) connections.
