500V Dual-Value Audio Electrolytic Cap

A dual-section electrolytic capacitor engineered specifically for audio amplifier applications, available in 100+100μF, 50+50μF, and 32+32μF configurations, all with a 500V DC voltage rating. Constructed using standard aluminium electrolyte chemistry and wound foil construction. Physical size varies per capacity; tolerances up to ±3 mm apply due to manual measurement. Because prolonged storage (2–3 months) causes gradual dielectric oxide layer weakening, these capacitors must undergo a voltage-reforming process before use at full rating: start at 50V for 10–15 minutes, incrementally raise voltage by 20V every 4–5 minutes until reaching 500V. Always use a 100kΩ 5W series resistor during reforming to limit inrush current and monitor leakage via voltage drop across the resistor. At rated voltage and 20°C, typical leakage remains within 0.025–0.05 mA per microfarad.
