Regulated ±65V DC supply with robust filtering is strongly advised for lowest distortion and noise. Unregulated supplies require extra design margin — especially important given typical ±6% voltage fluctuation in UK domestic circuits. Incorrect polarity destroys the board instantly; verify connections twice. Output features short-circuit detection, but protection is not intended for repeated fault conditions. Ideal for 10–18 inch, 4–8 ohm loudspeakers — widely adopted in DIY subwoofer projects and active speaker conversions. For weak input signals (e.g., from moving magnet phono stages or low-output streamers), a preamplifier stage restores full dynamic range. Fan-assisted cooling sustains performance during extended use in thermally restrictive enclosures.
