Alpine Strawberry \nAn early variety with tasty red fruits which can be up to 25mm in diameter. \nVery hardy, Alpine strawberry plants will eventually mature to approx.25cm by 25cm. \nThey will happily flower and fruit from early spring until the first frosts. \nThe flowers of the Alpine Strawberry have both male and female organs and are pollinated by bees, moths and butterflies. \nThe berries, rich in iron, vitamin C and potassium are sweet and succulent with an exquisite flavour and aroma. \nAlpine Strawberry fruit is delicious eaten fresh but it can also be cooked and made into jams, tarts or puddings. \nThe leaves of the Alpine Strawberry can be made into a refreshing tea-like drink and is used as a herbal remedy to treat arthritis, stomach upsets and other digestion problems. \nPrefers a fertile, well drained moisture retentive soil but are not fussy whether conditions are acid or alkaline. \nAt their best in full sun or light dappled shade, the Alpine Strawberry will also tolerate semi-shade although this will reduce fruit production. \nExcellent along woodland edges where they seem to thrive when mulched by pine or spruce leaves. \nDetailed growing instructions are on the back of each packet \nPacket contains: 210 seeds approx. \nIMMEDIATE \n \nDesign and colouring of packets may occasionally vary. \nWe want you to be happy with your purchase and all our Alpine Strawberry seed is checked and inspected visually before packing. .
