USBtinyISP is an AVR ISP programmer based on the USB interface. Officially supported by the Arduino IDE and compatible with USBtinyISP, it can be used to burn the Arduino bootloader onto chips and program any Atmel AVR microcontroller. The programmer provides a 5V power supply to the target board. To power the board via the ISP, the SJVCC jumper must be closed. It supports uploading sketches and burning bootloaders on AVR-based boards, including Arduino boards. Using an external programmer allows removal of the bootloader to free up additional flash memory for sketches. It can also recover a corrupted bootloader or install a bootloader on a bare ATmega microcontroller for use with USB-Serial sketch uploads. Supports ATTiny45 and ATTiny85 microcontrollers.
