Beginner-Friendly Solar Heliostat

Designed expressly for those new to solar astronomy, this heliostat removes barriers to safe, effective sun observation. Its all-metal body is crafted from anodized aluminium alloy, weighing only 125g (4.4oz) while maintaining rigidity and longevity. A dedicated creamy white cross-observation plate ensures immediate visual confirmation of reflected solar position. Calibration happens automatically via ambient light — no calculations, apps or external tools needed. Most importantly, it bypasses conventional finder scopes entirely, eliminating the single most frequent cause of observer eye damage during solar work. The result is a tool that teaches correct habits from day one — not just how to see the sun, but how to do so responsibly.
