Supports only 10/100BASE-TX Ethernet standards — relies on splitting wire pairs (1–2 and 3–6) across a single Cat5e/Cat6 cable to deliver three usable endpoints when used in conjunction with a second identical splitter at the destination end. Does not support auto-negotiation beyond 100 Mbps, nor does it provide switching logic — all connected devices share the same collision domain and must be configured manually for IP addressing if used outside DHCP scope. Fully compliant with EN 60950-1 safety standards for household use. Common applications include connecting desktop PCs, IPTV set-top boxes, and gaming consoles in multi-room setups where Wi-Fi performance is unreliable or insufficient — especially beneficial in UK brick-built homes with thick walls that degrade wireless signals.
