Carved Top Whorl Spindle Kit

Measuring approximately 32.5 cm in height with a 7 cm whorl diameter and 2 cm thickness, this top-whorl drop spindle weighs modestly for comfortable extended use. It combines sustainably sourced wood for the shaft and whorl with a metal hook and tip. The included 50 g of carded wool provides an accessible entry point for learners. Its carved surface enhances grip and visual distinction, supporting controlled drafting and tension management. Suitable for medium-to-fine yarns, it performs well with both short-staple (e.g., wool) and longer staple fibres (e.g., linen hackles or combed cotton), making it adaptable across spinning styles—from beginner ‘park-and-draft’ to more advanced supported spinning.
