CORIANDER \n coriandrum sativum\n\nA quick growing herb often described as having a spicy and very fresh taste. \nCoriander is a member of the parsley family and although grown and treated as an annual it can sometimes last into the second year. \nA very attractive plant, with slender stems, bright green feathery foliage and carrying small purple, pink or white flowers. \nThe seeds of Coriander have a distinct orangey flavour and are used as a seasoning for roast pork, smoked meat, pate, sauces and cakes. \nThey are also used as an ingredient for a number of beverages. \nWhen finely chopped the young leaves sometimes called Cilantro can be added to curries, chutney, salads and sauces. \nCoriander leaves can be used fresh or dried. \nThe globular, sandy-coloured, ribbed seeds begin to ripen about August and develop a very agreeable aroma. \nTo harvest, the plant should be cut down and the seeds shaken off for use. \nCoriander will grow on most soils but it does best on a rich, free-draining site but it must have full sun. \nDetailed growing instructions are on the back of each packet \nPacket contains: 300 seeds approx. \nIMMEDIATE \n \nDesign and colouring of packets may occasionally vary. \nWe want you to be happy with your purchase and all our Coriander seed is checked and inspected visually before packing. .
