Cytisus Boskoop Ruby. Scotch Broom.

CYTISUS Boskoop Ruby \nCommonly known as Broom or Scotch Broom. \nHas a broadly upright habit with slim, slightly arching branches. \nFrom mid-April to mid-June Cytisus Boskoop Ruby bears stunning, pea-like flowers. \nDeep ruby-red red in colour the blooms are carried in great numbers. \nPlants should be pruned lightly after flowering. \nLow growing and deciduous Boskoop Ruby will only reach around 120cm after 10 years. \nIts compact size makes it the ideal choice for today’s smaller gardens. \nAn unfussy plant, Boskoop Ruby is best grown in well-drained poor acid soils in full sun and is completely hardy in the UK. \nRoyal Horticulture Society Award of Garden Merit (AGM). \nAs with all broom Boskoop Ruby resents being moved so it is best planted when young. \nIllustrations are of mature plants in bloom, they are for illustration purposes only and may not reflect the plant at all times of the year. \nOur Cytisus plants are supplied ex. 9cm pots, they can be planted out immediately but better results may be obtained if they are grown on for a short time in a slightly larger container before transplanting to their final growing positions. \nView some of the many other shrubs \nPACK 1 PLANT \nIMMEDIATE \n \nLearn how to prune your new plant by viewing this short by ViettesGardeningTips \nPlease remember plant maintenance is absolutely essential and means we need to prune back some items at certain times of the year to help maintain shape and encourage new growth. \nWe ask all our buyers to remember Cytisus plants are living items and their appearance changes with the seasons.  Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website. This is quite normal and not a matter for any worry or concern, it is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil.\n\nWe want you to be happy with your purchase and all our Brooms are checked and inspected visually before packing. In the unlikely event of a problem .  Due to the nature of the products we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll.
