DICENTRA \nspectabilis \n A native of eastern Asia, Dicentra has collected many common names during its long history as a cottage garden plant. “Dutchmans Breeches”, “Bleeding Heart” and “Lady in the Bath” are only a few. \nThe pink heart shaped flowers with white tips dangle enticingly from the arching stems above the fern like foliage in late spring and early summer. \nDicentra spectabilis florishes in humus rich soil, in the dappled shade under tall shrubs and trees. \nAlthough usually grown in shade it can do very well in a sunny spot providing the soil stays sufficiently damp. \nOnce planted Dicentra does not like to be disturbed. \nCan grow to a height of 3ft.
