Dual Colour-Change Egg Timer Set

Each timer measures 5.5 x 4 x 3.2 cm and is constructed from durable, food-safe, BPA-free polystyrene — explicitly confirmed non-toxic for all family members. Total package includes two identical yellow units. No batteries, electronics, or moving parts. The timer’s core function relies on thermochromic response: as water temperature rises during boiling, its surface gradually shifts hue to reflect corresponding egg internal states — soft, medium, and hard — based on cumulative thermal exposure, not elapsed time. This replicates the physics of egg white and yolk coagulation more closely than clock-based methods. Optimised for UK-standard stovetop use: performs consistently with gas, electric, and induction hobs; compatible with common UK pot depths and volumes (1–2 litre capacity). Especially effective for British shoppers who regularly boil medium or large free-range eggs sourced from supermarkets like Tesco, Sainsbury’s, or Waitrose.
