Escallonia Donard Radiance. \nAn outstanding hedging plant, very suited to coastal locations where it will withstand salt laden air and sea gales. \nVigorous and evergreen Donard Radiance has a tight compact habit. \nThe large deep green glossy leaves are sometimes sticky to the touch. \nLoose panicles or clusters of soft rose-red chalice shaped flowers adorn Donard Radiance from early summer right through till mid-autumn. \nWhile Escallonia Donard Radiance makes a very pretty flowering hedge it is also an excellent standalone shrub. \nLime tolerant, and drought resistant once established Donard Radiance will thrive on any well drained soil but prefers a site in full sun. \nCan reach 2m x 2m if left untrimmed but it is very easy to maintain, simply cut back the old flowering growth immediately after flowering. \nAny large or unwieldy plants should also be cut back hard at this time. \nWhen planting Escallonia Donard Radiance as a hedge we recommend 3 plants to the metre. \nAll pictures used are of mature plants in bloom, they are for illustration purposes only and may not reflect the plant at all times of the year. \nPlease browse the OTHER CULTIVARS of this plant we have in stock. \nOur Escallonia plants are supplied ex. 10cm pots, they can be planted out immediately but better results may be obtained if they are grown on for a short time in a slightly larger container before transplanting to their final growing positions. \nPACK 1 PLANT \nIMMEDIATE \n \nBrainy.
