Flexible Auto Back Probes 4mm Spoon

Set comprises two flexible spoon back probes: black and red, each 120 mm long with a 4 mm banana plug termination. Spoon tip opening: 2.5–3.5 mm adjustable via gentle manual flex; shaft outer diameter: 4.2 mm; material: UL-certified ABS body, electroplated brass tip and spring contact. Weight per unit: 12.5 g. Engineered to maintain positive contact pressure on round pins during thermal expansion cycles — critical for validating components like glow plug controllers or transmission solenoids that operate across wide temperature ranges. The spoon’s slight inherent spring tension ensures continuous contact even if the probe shifts minutely due to engine vibration or harness movement. Commonly deployed in UK commercial vehicle fleets for diagnosing J1939 CAN faults, trailer ABS interface issues, and telematics power supply integrity — where robustness, reusability and rapid setup outweigh disposable alternatives.
