Description
Geranium Album. Common Cranesbill.
GERANIUM Album
\nCommonly known as Cranesbill and first grown in the British Isles in the 16th century.
\nThe Geranium of the herbaceous border is a hardy perennial which is often grown as a ground cover plant, its mounds of dense and deeply divided leaves serving to suppress weed growth.
\nShould not be confused with the half hardy Pelargonium which is popularly referred to as Geranium.
\nCranesbill will thrive in any reasonable soil.
\nAlbum is immensely popular and is smothered in pristine white flowers from late April – late July.
\nExcellent as ground cover and will thrive in a shaded area.
\nGeranium Album is perfect for illuminating a woodland spot.
\nThe saucer shaped flowers should be removed once they have faded, this encourages further flowering.
\nKeep for slugs in spring and cut the stems back to ground level in autumn.
\nAll pictures of Album used are of mature plants in bloom and are for illustration purposes only. They may not reflect plants at all times of the year.
\nOur plants are supplied ex. 10cm pots, they can be planted out immediately but better results may be obtained if they are grown on for a short time in a slightly larger container before transplanting to their final growing positions
\nJohn Lord has some great hints and tips on this very useful species.

\nWe ask all our buyers to remember Geranium plants are living items and their appearance changes with the seasons. Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website. This is quite normal and not a matter for any worry or concern, it is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil.\n\n We want you to be happy with your purchase and all our items are checked and inspected visually before packing. at . . Due to the nature of the goods we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll.
