Artfully designed necklace pendant Helm of Awe made of 925 sterling silver. The pendant is partially blackened so that the design is shown to its best advantage. The symbol is surrounded by a rune ring.br br Dimensions approx. 27 mm diameter. Weight approx. 10 g.br br Internal dimensions of the eyelet approx. 5 mm high x approx. 3 mm wide.br br The jewelry pendant is delivered including a black and silver basket chain made of 925 sterling silver. The elegant necklace is approx. 1.5 mm thick and partially oxidized. We have three different lengths on offer 45cm, 55cm and 65cm.br br Backgroundbr br The Helm of Awe is also known as the Helm of Terror. The symbol originally comes from Iceland and is called Aegishjalmur or Aegishjalmr in the Icelandic original. The symbol was intended to protect warriors in battle and intimidate enemies. Nowadays Aegishjalmur is very popular as a protective tattoo.br br The runes represent the 24 characters of the so-called older Futhark. This is the runic alphabet used by the Germanic tribes until the 8th century.
