High-Accuracy Fiber Butt Joint Cold Connector

Optical cold connector built around a precision-engineered V-groove for deterministic alignment of two 125 µm optical fibers. Ensures physical contact between fiber end faces through cladding-controlled positioning—no index-matching fluid or active adjustment needed. Thermoplastic housing provides mechanical durability and thermal resilience; ceramic alignment sleeve guarantees long-term positional fidelity. Unit size: ~42 mm long × 4.0 mm diameter; weight: ~2.3 g. Fully compatible with ITU-T G.652.D and G.657.A1 fibers. Installation requires only fibre stripping and cleaving—no polishing, fusion, heat shrink, or curing steps. Delivers typical insertion loss of 0.2–0.35 dB and return loss >45 dB when used with ≤0.5° cleave angles and clean end faces.
