MINT \nmentha piperita \nAn easy to grow herb, said to have the strongest of any flavour and one that has proved invaluable in the kitchen and in industry. \nDeciduous by nature, Mint has smooth, pointed, green leaves with a reddish sheen and carries purplish/lilac flowers and the whole plant is heavily scented. \nIn the kitchen it is used as a seasoning for fish, meat and potatoes and as flavouring for sauces, teas and puddings. \nMint is also used in the manufacturing of toothpaste and as a flavouring for confectionary and many other products. \nThe leaves should be picked before the plant blooms and can be used fresh, dried or frozen. \nVery easy to grow, almost too easy because Mint can become invasive if not kept under control, it is best grown in pots or containers to help curtail its wandering ways. \nIt likes a good fertile, moist but well drained soil and prefers a site in full sun although it will tolerate a little light or dappled shade. \nWhen harvesting Mint do not cut it down to ground level, leave about 4 inches of a stubble, this helps stimulate new growth for harvesting later. \nDetailed growing instructions are on the back of each packet \nPacket contains: 750 seeds approx. \nIMMEDIATE \n \nDesign and colouring of packets may occasionally vary. \nWe want you to be happy with your purchase and all our Mint seed is checked and inspected visually before packing. .
