Modbus RTU 16I 16O RS485 IO Expansion Module

A robust, DIN-rail mountable I/O expansion solution operating across a wide DC input range of 6.5–30V (including common 12V and 24V supplies), drawing just 8–50mA. It delivers 16 optically isolated NPN inputs (active low) for noise-immune signal acquisition and 16 Darlington outputs (ULN2803) rated at 300mA per channel for driving relays, LEDs, solenoids or small motors. Communication uses standard Modbus RTU over RS485 with support for function codes 03 (read), 06 (write single), and selected registers also accept function code 16 (write multiple). Six built-in control modes — including configurable delay up to 255 seconds — allow local logic execution without a master PLC. Baud rate is jumper-selectable (2400–19200 bps), defaulting to 9600. Up to 64 units can coexist on one RS485 bus. The included UM72 enclosure meets DIN35/C45 rail standards, is flame-retardant (VO grade), and fits 72mm-wide PCBs with 100mm backplane length.
