Multi Guard Control provides 26 nutrients at relevant levels including, per daily dose, 200µg of GTF chromium, probably the best known nutrient for blood sugar control. 300mg of Magnesium has been included because it is a component of several enzymes involved in the breakdown of blood sugar and acts as a second messenger for insulin activity at the cell membrane level. The formula has been specifically designed to help the body maintain a more even balance of its energy reserves between meals. It also contains 150mg of alpha lipoic acid as research has shown that it can activate the insulin signaling cascade in cells and is therefore involved in blood sugar control. Additionally, studies in individuals with imbalances have shown that alpha lipoic acid can improve glucose uptake by enhancing the cells’ response to insulin. Other nutrients that have also been shown to help improve glucose utilization include zinc, vitamin C, and particularly vitamins B1, B3, and B6. All are included in significant amounts. It is recommended to take 2 tablets a day, preferably one with breakfast and one with lunch or dinner.
