NEPETA Six Hills Giant \nAlso called Catmint. \nA vigorous clump forming perennial with grey/green foliage. \nVery aromatic, when the leaves of Catmint are crushed they emit a strong lemon like fragrance. \nIn summer the entire plant is covered with sprays or spikes of small tubular lavender-like blue flowers. \nOften seen in the border of the Cottage Garden but Nepeta is also used to edge paths and other walkways where the leaves will be bruised and their pleasant aroma can be enjoyed. \nSix Hill Giant also makes a very good pot or container plant. \nGreat for attracting bees to the garden and of course cats love it. \nCatmint prefers a site in full sun with well-drained soil and is fairly drought tolerant once established. \nWhen the first blooms begin to fade give the plant a quick trim over and you will be rewarded with a second flush of both leaves and flowers. \nLarge overgrown or congested clumps of Nepeta should be lifted and divide in spring. \nWhen replanting use lots of well-rotted organic matter. \nAll pictures used are of mature plants in full bloom, they are for illustration purposes only and may not necessarily reflect plants at all times of the year. \nOur Nepeta plants are supplied ex. 9cm pots, they can be planted out immediately but better results may be obtained if they are grown on for a short time in a slightly larger container before transplanting to their final growing positions. \nFor tips on how to grow this  plant visit Greg Irwin . \nPACK 1 PLANT \nIMMEDIATE \n \nOur wide and varied range of Perennials can be view here. \nPlease remember, plant maintenance within our nursery is absolutely essential and means we need to prune back some items at certain times of the year to help maintain shape and encourage new growth. \nWe ask all our buyers to remember Nepeta is a living item and its appearance changes with the seasons.  Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website.
