Network Cable Prep Straightener Tool

Form Factor: pocketable dimensions with textured grip surface; Build: reinforced metal pivot and wear-resistant plastic body; Functional Range: handles standard unshielded twisted-pair (UTP) cables including Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6a; Key Actions: rotates to slit outer sheath, separates twisted pairs, and positions wires for termination. The integrated rotation system allows users to apply steady thumb pressure while turning—eliminating jerky motions that cause jacket tearing or conductor nicks. Once stripped, the wire guide array accepts eight conductors in correct left-to-right sequence, holding them under light tension until ready for connector placement or IDC punch-down. Field-tested across BT Openreach subcontractor teams and NHS hospital network upgrades, this tool consistently delivers uniform cable ends—reducing scrap rates and improving first-time pass rates on Fluke DSX-5000 certification tests.
