Artfully designed howling wolf in the moon made of 925 sterling silver. The crescent moon is decorated with a filigree knot pattern. Dimensions: approx. 26 mm high x approx. 24 mm wide <br>Interior dimensions of the eyelet: approx. 7 mm high x approx. 4 mm wide weight: approx. 6.5 g The jewelry pendant is supplied with a black cotton ribbon. Background: According to Norse mythology, Odin had two wolves: Geri and Freki (the greedy and the voracious). After the Edda, Odin gave his wolves all the food served to him in Valhalla, as he himself only drank mead. But Odin's fate is also closely linked to another wolf: In the world fire Ragnarök, the father of the gods is devoured by Fenrir, the giant Fenriswolf.  Like ravens, wolves were also considered animals of the battlefield by the Vikings.
