Pendant 394 Wolf's Head - Silver

Artfully designed wolf pendant made of 925 sterling. The wolf's head is plastically highlighted and richly decorated all around. The pendant is partially blackened on the front. Dimensions: approx. 28 mm Diameter Internal dimensions of the eyelet: approx. 6 mm high x approx. 4 mm wide Weight: approx. 7 g The pendant comes with a black cotton strap. Background: According to Norse mythology, Odin owned two wolves: Geri and Freki (the greedy and the voracious). After the Edda, Odin left to his wolves all the food that was served to him in Valhalla, since he himself only drank mead. But Odin's fate is also closely linked to another wolf: In the global conflagration Ragnarök, the father of the gods is devoured by Fenrir, the giant Fenris wolf.  Like ravens, wolves were considered by the Vikings to be animals of the battlefield.
