1. The electrode requires proper storage and maintenance. Clean the electrode with distilled water and store it in a protective bottle. It will be activated by immersion in the appropriate solution before the next use. 2. If the electrode is not used for an extended period, rinse it thoroughly and gently remove any remaining distilled water. 3. The sensitive glass bulb at the tip of the electrode must not come into contact with hard objects. Any damage or scratches may impair electrode performance. 4. After prolonged use, the electrode’s slope and response speed may decrease. To restore performance, immerse the sensing tip in 4% HF for 3–5 seconds or in dilute HCl solution for 1–2 minutes, then rinse with distilled water and soak in potassium chloride solution (4M). 5. If the sample contains substances that may coat the glass bulb or clog the junction, the electrode response may become slow, unstable, or inaccurate. Select an appropriate cleaning method based on the nature of the contaminant to restore proper function.
