Measures distances reliably between 20 cm and 150 cm. Built around a position-sensitive detector (PSD) paired with an infrared emitting diode (IRED) and dedicated analogue signal processing circuitry. Accuracy relies on optical triangulation geometry — therefore independent of object material type (e.g., wood, plastic, fabric), ambient thermal conditions, or repeated measurement cycles. Output voltage varies linearly with distance, permitting direct translation into centimetre values using standard microcontroller ADC functions — enabling flexible deployment in distance logging, level sensing, or reactive motion control systems.
