Practical Cotton Biofilter Sponge Pad

Measuring 20 x 15 x 2.5 cm and weighing ~85 g, this biochemical sponge pad uses practical cotton to deliver reliable dual-stage filtration. Its fine pores intercept suspended solids before they decompose, reducing yellowing and odour at the source. Simultaneously, its porous architecture fosters growth of nitrifying bacteria essential for converting toxic ammonia and nitrite. Designed for broad compatibility: fits standard-sized compartments in popular UK-market filters including Tetra Tec EX, JBL CristalProfi, Sunsun HW-702A, and generic internal filters. Easily customised with household scissors and maintained via gentle rinsing—no replacement cycles needed unless physically worn.
