Rustic Woodpecker Pull-Cord Door Knocker

This knocker is milled from a single block of responsibly sourced hardwood — dense enough to resist warping in typical UK humidity ranges (40–70% RH), yet light enough for secure adhesive bonding. Exact dimensions: 10 cm tall, 6 cm wide, 9 cm deep — allowing clear visibility without crowding door panels or interfering with handles or letterboxes. The mounting system uses a dual-layer adhesive: a base film for initial tack, plus a reinforced polymer layer for long-term shear resistance — validated on 12 common UK interior door finishes. Pulling the braided cotton cord engages a precision-cut wooden striker against a resonant chamber — producing a warm, woody ‘clack’ that conveys arrival without startling. Used widely in London flats, Cotswold cottages and Glasgow tenements alike, it functions as both functional alert and considered interior detail — reinforcing connection to nature without overt theme-parking or kitsch.
