Silicone Ventless Lens Applicator

Six ventless applicators made from homogeneous, translucent green silicone. Each unit is 4.5 cm long, with a 8 mm diameter plunger head and smooth contoured handle. Density and elasticity calibrated for optimal grip retention and release control—tested across 500+ insertion/removal cycles without deformation. The ventless mechanism functions purely through surface tension and material compression: no moving parts, no vents, no seals to fail. Works best with clean, dry lenses—but retains sufficient hold even with trace moisture due to silicone’s natural affinity for hydrophobic surfaces. Recommended for daily use by scleral lens wearers in the UK, including those managing post-corneal graft recovery, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, or neurotrophic keratitis. Also widely adopted by UK-based ocular prosthetists for gentle prosthetic eye handling without surface marking.
