High-quality necklace pendant "Thor's Hammer" with matching snake chain made of 925 sterling silver. The noble necklace is approx. 2 mm thick. We have three different lengths on offer: 45 cm, 55 cm and 65 cm. The pendant is partially blackened and artistically decorated. The eyelet is adorned with a stylized raven's head. The back is not hollow, but closed and smoothly polished. Dimensions: approx. 35 mm high x approx. 30 mm wide x approx. 5.5 mm thick Inner dimensions of the eyelet: approx. 4.9 mm high x approx. 3.6 mm wide Weight: ca. 16 g Meaning of the motifs: The Thor's Hammer is also known as Thor's Hammer, Mjölnir or Mjollnir. According to Norse mythology, Mjölnir was the magical weapon of the god of thunder Thor. Hurled at its enemies, the hammer never missed its target and always returned to its owner's hand. It stands as a symbol of strength and drive. This special model is the interpretation of a Viking Age find from the southern Swedish province of Skåne and is therefore also known as the Skåne hammer. The raven motif is very popular on Thor's hammers, because according to mythology, the father of the gods Odin had two ravens, Hugin and Munin. He sent them out every day to reconnoitre so that they could tell him everything that was going on on earth. The raven was therefore considered a symbol of knowledge. He was also known as the Beast of the Battlefield.
